Ethiopian Premier League’s (EPL) newest club Mekele City FC (M City) announced the inclusion of three new foreign players to its squad on Wednesday. The three players joining Mekele include two Ghanaians and one from Equatorial Guinea.
The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, Filippo Grandi, praised efforts made by the Ethiopian government in handling the regional refugee crisis. Grandi made the remarks during the World Refugee Day commemorative ceremony, which was held on June 20 at the Nguenyyiel Refugee Camp in theGambella Regional State, which is housing some 54,000 South Sudanese refugees. Also in attendance was Workneh Gebeyehu (PhD), minister of foreign affairs. The refugee camp has school that teaches children from kindergarten up to grade four.
