Leo Mkanyia and his band, one of the most acclaimed African bands hailing from Tanzania, the Swahili Blues Band, is visiting Addis Ababa for the month of June. 

The Spanish Embassy will be hosting, collaborating and performing with world renowned Spanish classical guitarist, Rafael Serrallet in a concert, which will be held on Monday June 29 at 7:00 PM at Villa Verde off Ethio-China Avenue.

Mulatu Astatke’s trailblazing album, Mulatu of Ethiopia, was officially rereleased on Friday May 19. Recorded in New York, the album from 1972 arrived at a time when Mulatu had begun to master the delicate fusion of styles needed to create Ethio jazz.

Damian "JR Gong" Marley, son of Bob Marley and music star in his own right, is scheduled to perform in Addis Ababa on June 6.

The release of one of the most acclaimed artist Teddy Afro’s album, entitled “Ethiopia,” definitely is one of the stories that “broke the Internet” (went viral) among Ethiopians and the Ethiopian diaspora.
